![]() For example, in Bloons TD 6, there are 3 upgrade paths, each of which can go up to 5 tiers, plus one additional tier shared by successors of the fifth tier called Paragons. Of those games that use a multi-linear progression of upgrades, most towers offer upgrade paths that each can be unlocked up to a certain amount of tiers. In most games, tower upgrades are constructed in a linear or multi-linear progression of upgrades. Upgrade structure of a Dart Monkey in Bloons TD 6, excluding Paragons (which merges successors of Tier 5 upgrades) MIB in BTD6 still has the upgrades of Radar Scanner and Grow Blocker) with the inherited upgrades referred to as built-in upgrades, as they require to be purchased before the desired upgrade is available. With some exceptions, all upgrades inherit their previous upgrades (e.g. in BATTD, Finn's Brofist requires Jake nearby). in BTD6, Razor Sharp Shots requires Sharp Shots), or needing a specific tower nearby (e.g. Certain upgrades may require special conditions in order to be purchasable, such as buying a previous upgrade of a certain path (e.g. Some upgrades also add special abilities that can be activated on-demand. Most upgrades enhance the overall power of the tower or add new perks that can increase the potential of an existing defense. Most upgrades are bought with in-game cash. Upgrades are purchasable enhancements that empower an existing tower. Nothing you can say or will say can excuse that.Tower upgrades are usually a better option than just adding more towers.Įxample defense in Bloons TD 6 with Dart Monkeys upgraded to Tier 3 bigger games than this, using 3D models and high quality engines, have been made independently, without microtransactions. Game can and have run fine without microtransactions. But at least NK gives us something in return for all these purchases as opposed to most mobile game companies (and other companies using IAP) who just milk it without releasing much content. ![]() I dislike it and typically go for paid games that I pay a flat fee for. In my ideal world we'd be back to no IAP. Αναρτήθηκε αρχικά από level94836:you lost me there chiefĪnd again, I want to emphasize, I totally see your point of view. Somebody has to make up for the fact that I'm unwilling to buy double cash, monkey money, insta-monkeys, or monkey knowledge to pay the devs for the years of content updates this game will presumably have.Īs for moddability, that is awesome, and I'd love to see that come into the game, especially for track editing.Īnd again, I want to emphasize, I totally see your point of view. Content-wise, it is much higher, which means they have to have people paying more than the base cost to keep it going. That is far more than the $10 I paid for it compared to other games that I could spend $60 for and end up playing 20-80 hours and feel done once I beat them. I still have a lot to do (infinite with challenges). Most games that I see take that approach these days end up in development hell with their updates, with promised ideas/patches being put off months or years because they have to go work on other games to make a profit or have to lay off team members to stay in budget. Simply buying and playing the game doesn't keep a constant cash influx. ![]() So either they have to make a game with a flat payment and move on, or they have to put in IAP and continue development. I also realize there is no such thing as a free lunch and devs have a business to run and kids to feed. I would love NK so much more if they cut that nonsense out and focused on meaningful paid content.Īt the same time, I also realize that if NK used the same sales model as BTD 5 Deluxe it would fail and we'd never get extra content. I am ethically against paying to win, which I feel double cash is and some of the other IAP is borderline that way. I miss the days where you paid for a game and that is it. I will agree to disagree.īut before I get into why, I totally see your point of view. other platforms usually don't get those benefits, and that's how it's been. I'd like moddability because that's what the PC is known for. The retail price they already charge for the game in its current state is not worth it. If they want more money they can always add more content updates that don't charge more money, so that way people can actually play the game and be incentivized to play it instead of being bombarded with choices to spend more money once they've plopped 10 bucks.
